Super Eagles new boy Cyriel Dessers has said he is proud to be named the Goal King of the Dutch top league after the season was effectively called off no thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Dessers scored 15 goals in 26 matches for Heracles Armelo to finish as top scorer in Holland.
“It is very special to achieve this at the age of 25,” he said. 
“I have already experienced many great moments, but becoming a top scorer in a top-10 competition in Europe is a very nice milestone in my career.”
He is now the sixth Belgian player to finish as Goal King in neigbouring Holland after the likes of Kevin Miralles and Luc Nilis.
“Luc is a living legend in both Belgium and the Netherlands. So it makes me very proud that as a boy from Tongeren, I am now next to do that,” he said.
His contract at Heracles will not run out till 2022, but his goals have caused a lot transfer speculations around him.
However, Dessers would rather to see if he moves.
 “I am very curious about what will happen, because it will of course be a very strange summer,” he said. 
“I see that transfers are not a priority in many countries and clubs at the moment. So, it will be a matter of waiting. ”
